Founder And President Of Humble
House Crisis Ministries
Heb
2:11
- He purifies people from their sins, and both he and those who
are made pure all have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not
ashamed to call them his family.
Chaplain
Steve Neatherlin is the Deputy Chief Director of Drug Rehab programs
for Chaplain Fellowship Ministries. Chapalin Neatherlin is the
founder and president of the Humble House Crisis Ministries in
Temple Texas. Chaplain Neatherlin walks the walk because he has
been there! The following is in Chaplain Neatherlins own words.
It's not about me! What a statement to begin my story with, but
it is true! You see, I realize that my story is for His glory.
I had nothing to offer Jesus when He called me. I was a junkie
and a drunk. My life was driven by self and fulfilling the desires
of my flesh!
I
started using drugs at nine years old. At the age of thirteen
I actually started shooting up with a needle! My life got caught
in a whirlwind of rebellion. My interest in school and future
dreams dissolved, and I lived in an illusion daily. Then, I began
dealing drugs and that resulted with me using more and more. I
quit school at the age of sixteen, and wound up married. I entered
into the relationship with hurt, anger and with no trust. Needless
to say, the marriage ended in divorce five years later.
I
spent most of my childhood life in an adult world without God!
I have been arrested in Bell county alone seventeen times - all
behind my rebellious way of life. I found myself feeling hopeless
and had purposed to just end my life. I began to drink and use
drugs even more heavily. I was so bitter that I destroyed all
of my relationships with fighting and finding fault. Then, one
night, after shooting up some drugs, I was drawing - and God's
convicting power through the Holy Spirit moved upon my heart!
My drawing transformed before my eyes and revealed to me that
if I were to die at that moment, I would be on my way to Hell!
Immediately, I went to the bathroom, fell on my knees and cried
out to Jesus. I said, "Lord Jesus, forgive me and save me,
because I don't want to die today and be in Hell!" That very
moment I was radically changed! No church, no choir, just Jesus!!
He came into my heart that very moment and I have never been the
same.
Today,
after some shaping and molding in my life, the Lord has me at
the Humble House. I am now an ordained Chaplain and minister,
and I am a faith-based counselor and a loving father. What a difference
Jesus can make! I've given my life to help others who have suffered
like me. My hope and desire is to extend God's Kingdom in a hurting
world. I have totally surrendered to the call of God on my life,
and in this, I have found meaning, purpose and peace. So, again,
I came to realize that there is more to life than what can be
seen, that's why and I know today that It's not about Steve!"

And with all his abundant wealth through Christ Jesus, my God

Here
is Chris Moore's testimonie, Chris is the house director of one
of the humble houses. Chris tells about how his life has been
transformed and restored through the Humble House Crisis Ministries.
Nothing is impossible with God.
Chris
Moore: Due to drugs I have missed out on most of the things
that should have been the happiest times of my life . Even with
the bad choices I made, the losses that came with living that
way , I ended up in prison three times and none of that was enough
to change me. I always knew God had more for me because like Joseph
I found favor every where I would go even in my worst . I am now
at the Humble House and there is peace in my life. I feel like
I have learned there is a better way to live my life through Jesus
Christ. I have alot of new friends and family who have truly showed
love for me and showed me how I can love others. All I know is
that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
